Pedro Infante was a person who was characterized by being joker and friendly, as his colleagues in the artistic world have portrayed him, but this was enough for him to fight with some of his colleagues while he was working, such was the case the day he made a bet with Emilio Tuero.

Jose Angel Espinoza, better known as Ferrusquilla, remembered Pedro Infante with great affection, not only because he was his friend and that of his then girlfriend, Blanca Estela Pavon, but because he was usually amused by the occurrences that the Idol of the People, but not everyone was amused by what the Sinaloan did.

It was Sunday, it was known that the theater would be full of families, so they had a program with different presentations. At 4:00 p.m. the artist whose turn it was to go on stage did not arrive, so the director decided that Emilio Tuero sing some songs.

Before he appeared on stage, Pedro asked him to do a bet which consisted of seeing who managed to perform more songs, since it was the public that, based on their applause, decided whether or not the singer stayed to perform one more song.

The Spanish accepted and bet 100 pesos each, which would currently be about thousand 400 pesos. The money would take care of him Ferrusquilla until the two were forced to leave the stage.

Tuero began his presentation with good acceptance from the public, who applauded him one song after another. At the end, managed to sing seven songs, something that would be difficult for Infante to achieve, not because people did not like it, but because they would expect another type of show for that moment.

The interpreter of My darling sang and did well for the first four songs, but for the fifth, his audience was already tired of it being just about singers, because they wanted to enjoy an acrobat or dancers.

However, the Idol of Guamuchil He wouldn’t let himself be beaten that easily by Emilio, who was already claiming victory in his bet, asking José Ángel for the 200 pesos.

Pedro walked from one side of the stage to the other and dropped to his knees after taking off his hat people thought it was a Fainting, but then the actor crouched down to kiss the floor and stood up again. Everyone present was taken aback by what they had just seen.

The man from Sinaloa took the microphone and explained: he had just witnessed a miracle at the end of the song, he saw the Virgin of Guadalupe make an appearance, right on the same stage as he was, so he didn’t hesitate to kneel down, dedicate a small prayer to her and kiss the ground for her.

Therefore, he sought the permission of the public to interpret, at least, two other songs popular for Guadalupana. People accepted very surprised and glad for what had just happened in front of their eyes.

Tuero understood what was happening and reacted very annoying realizing that he had lost the bet, he gathered up his things and left without even speaking to Pedro or Espinoza again.

Ferrusquilla recalled that, in reality, Pedro never sang any of the songs he promised, but the audience was amazed at his presence after what happened and he remained on stage until after he had sung more than 10 songs.
