In the UK they ask the Prince Harry to break his lucrative $ 150 million Netflix deal and show your displeasure at the controversial portrayal of Princess Diana in “The Crown.” The request comes days after it was learned that a friend of the late Lady Di left the series for her “disrespectful” script.

Harry has been absolutely silent on Netflix. He should break the agreement and defend his mother. What is more important? Money or defend your mom? It’s amazing that you can’t find your voice in this“Said British writer Angela Levin, author of” Harry: A Biography of a Prince, “who criticized the duke’s indifferent attitude to Netflix’s portrayal of his mother in her acclaimed drama.

Jemima Khan, 47, Diana’s closest confidante, stepped down from her advisory role on the show and demanded that her name be removed from the credits. She said her friend’s story was not being “told with the respect or compassion that she hoped for.”

The fifth season of “The Crown”, which would arrive in November next year, will focus on Diana’s last years before her death in a car accident in Paris in 1997. Her divorce from Prince Charles, her romances with the surgeon heart Hasnat Khan and businessman Dodi Fayed, and the BBC interview with Martin Bashir can also be seen in the new chapters of the hit fiction created by Peter Morgan.

In September, images of the filming in southern Spain were released. In them was director Philip Martin on the set of the new installment of “The Crown”, which is believed to cover the royal family from the 1990s to 2003. There were no official visits to Spain by royalty in those years so it is estimated that moments were recreated from when Diana and Dodi Fayed visited St. Tropez together in 1997.

Khan was hired to advise Morgan, 58, with whom she had a brief affair., reported The Sunday Times. The romantic relationship would not have lasted long because the screenwriter, apparently, reconciled with the actress Gillian Anderson, 53, who won an Emmy for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in “The Crown.”

Lady Di’s friend worked with Morgan from last September through February. He said he agreed to help write season five when the writer approached him in 2019 because he wanted his story to be “accurately portrayed.”

“It was very important to me that the last years of my friend’s life were portrayed with precision and compassion, as has not always been the case in the past,” Khan told The Sunday Times. But once she realized that the stories were being written in a way that she disagreed with, she decided to withdraw her support.

“In 2019, Peter Morgan asked me to co-write the fifth season of ‘The Crown’, particularly those episodes that referred to Princess Diana’s last years before she died. After giving it a lot of thought, without ever having spoken publicly about any of this before, I decided to contribute. We worked together on the outline and scripts from September 2020 to February 2021 ″, he told the aforementioned medium.

“When our co-writing agreement was not honored, and when I realized that particular stories would not necessarily be told with the respect or compassion I expected, I requested that all my contributions be removed from the series and declined a credit. ”, added.

A spokesperson for The Crown said: “Jemima Khan has been a friend, fan and public supporter of ‘The Crown’ since the first season. She has been part of a wide network of knowledgeable and varied sources who have provided extensive background information to our writers and research team, providing context for ‘The Crown’. She has never been hired as a writer ”.

Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty Magazine, said: “I don’t think Harry gets it. I guess when she made the deal with Netflix she didn’t really think about it, but Meghan did, she’s not an idiot. “

“(Harry) talked about ‘The Crown’ during his interview with James Corden, so he’s not totally oblivious”Seward said in statements to The Sun.

Netflix has also been criticized for “Diana: The Musical,” a show that was described as “degrading.”

Prince Harry and his wife signed a multi-deal with the streaming service last year, shortly after leaving behind their obligations as members of the royal family, to produce movies, documentaries and children’s shows.

The royal couple, through their production company, Archewell Productions, have already announced the first two programs that are underway: a documentary series about the Invictus Games and an animated series called “Pear”, whose story will revolve around the adventures of a girl.
