Spanish actress and presenter Isabel Torres passed away this Friday, February 11 after suffering from lung cancer which metastasized to his bones.
The news was confirmed by Torres’ relatives through his Instagram account.
“Today, February 11, 2022, we fired Isabel. Although her loss is deeply felt by her family and friends, we know that wherever she goes she will have fun as only she knows how. Thank you for all the shows of affection and concern. She has left feeling very loved and protected, ”says the message, accompanied by a photo of the 52-year-old actress in her youth.
According to the Spanish newspaper ‘ABC’, Torres, born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1969, was recognized for being the presenter of television and radio programs such as ‘Nos voy para la playa’ (from 2010).
His rise to international fame came with the ‘Venom’ series, that narrates the life of Cristina Ortiz, ‘La Veneno’. The series became popular with its arrival on the HBO platform.
Your cancer diagnosis
Isabel Torres was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2018. However, he made his illness public in 2020, according to the Spanish media.
Torres faced hard times with cancer while filming the series ‘Veneno’, but he fought for what he called the role of his life.
“I didn’t know what to do: whether to die, whether to cry, whether to throw myself on a sofa (…) I had many options, but the one that really gave me the courage to continue was that I was shooting the series of my life and, even if it was the last thing I did, I was going to do it well.. Although in the end I said ‘In memory of Isabel Torres’, she was going to do it and that’s what I did, ”said the woman in November in an interview with the program ‘Sábado Deluxe’.

The actress shared her process through her Instagram account: she shared videos of her immunotherapies and shared the moment she lost her hair because of the treatment to which she was subjected.
“This can last a long time and I am fighting there (…) Life is beautiful. It seems incredible, but we value it when we no longer have it or when we have little left. What a shame, that’s why you have to live to the fullest!”, He stated in a video on his networks in 2020.
But the woman strongly attracted the attention of her followers last November when He said that he had been given two months to live..
“This is the last video I’m going to make. In principle, they gave me two months to live. Let’s see if I get over it. If I do, great. If I don’t get over it, what are we going to do? Life is so”, he said at that time.

Isabel Torres is remembered in Spain for being the first transsexual woman of the Canary Islands to change their gender identity on their DNI identification document in 1996.
She will also be remembered for being the first trans woman to be a candidate for Queen of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival in 2015.
His friends and colleagues mourned his death and remembered his dedication and love for his work, even in the most difficult moments of his illness.
